Hello! My name is Esther Whittington. I was born into a large family. I’m the 8th of 10 children, and my mother home schooled all of us! My friends and family would describe me as bright, bubbly and passionate. I met my husband four years ago, and we just celebrated our third anniversary. I love being in nature-walking, hiking, and swimming. I enjoy reading, drawing and painting, baking and spending time with my family and friends. We have two toy Australian Shepherds-Paddington and Apache. They keep me on my toes and are very loved.
Why an in-home daycare? As an educator, I know the importance of early child development and how vital it is for children to be in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. It’s my goal to create that environment, to be a home away from home. I’m very passionate about pouring into kids, helping them feel seen, supported, and encouraging them to grow emotionally, socially, intellectually and spiritually.
An in-home helps create the space to be more personable with each child, building relationships with each of them but also with their peers. The smaller setting helps promote more personalized care and freedom to let them be themselves, explore, socialize, create, and learn in a warm, structured and joyful space. I also want to partner with you, parents, to provide peace of mind that your child is in a safe, loving and nurturing setting. It’s hard to find people you can trust with your child, and I take that responsibility very seriously and want you to know that It’s my desire to make their time here at HHD positive and joyful.
I’m very passionate about education. This is more than just a job for me-this is an incredible opportunity to pour into your child, to instill in them confidence, trust and a positive outlook. I’m committed to providing the best care and safe and nurturing environment to your sweet child.
I graduated from Baptist Bible College (now Mission University) with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. I have six years of teaching experience, including three years in first grade and three years in preschool. In addition to my formal teaching experience, I have been working with children since I was fourteen.
